mmmmm.....gelato!! I so want to do a food tour of Italy...its one of the top places and trips I want to do...to visit and taste all the different regional foods...mmmmmm!!! :)

There is a small gelato shop, about 1 hour from here, that is run by a first generation Italian family and the gelato is heavenly!

Yum - pistachio is my favorite.

Hmmm, well, I think I'm going to need to taste more flavors before I can pick a favorite. I might need to taste all of them, like, twice. Just to be sure.

Yummy post.

I like hazelnut, but I've never had pistachio as Glamour Mama mentioned....must try that one, as that is one of my favorite ice cream flavors.
I LOVE GELATO! Almost better than ice cream.
YUM!!!!!

love gelato.

i got the BEST gelato in the city of orange. if you ever find yourself up in that area... hehe.
If you served wine in your cheese/gelateria I would move in and never ever leave!

well then i'll open up a wine bar next to your cheese store and get all my cheese from you

I ate gelato every day when were in honeymooning in Italy. I imagine if I had studied abroad there I would have gained some serious weight!
I'm a tiramisu fan. Though, hazelnut is a close second :)
I think I like it better than ice cream. Probably has to do with texture. I also like soft serve ice cream and frozen yogurt - so there you go.
I don't think I've ever been to the city of Orange, but for good gelato I will make a special trip/stop. Do you remember the name of it?
Yes, it would have be a wine/cheese/gelato trifecta. If you added some bread, there would be no reason to ever leave!
cafe lucca.

i haven't tried the food there, but the gelato was pretty tasty :D

it's at the orange circle. if you're familiar with the area at all. :)

i live in a very small city, so i won't be able to indulge. boo. but at least i can read about it here and live vicariously. alas.
Mmmm! Our local custard lady studied at the gelato school -- her nocciola (hazelnut) custard is fabulous.
